Widows and Wings hosted a Mother’s Day Brunch at Indigo Iris Farm on May, 7th 2023. The event was a wonderful way for these ladies to relax and be carefree for a bit.
CAPA is proud to have been a major sponsor of the event along with Rachel’s Sweet and Savory Catering.
CAPA Board Member, Judy Buff was in attendance to assist with setup and to serve the ladies while they enjoyed eating, drinking and making bouquets.
Widows with Wings is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that I started as I grappled with our tragedy. This organization aims to support widows and widowers in the early days of grief by providing the resources and connections necessary to rebuild after loss.
Through education and awareness, I am also working to educate partners in preparing for unexpected death and illness so that survivors have a strong foundation as they rebuild their lives. I am using my grief to strengthen others. - Briana Prestininzi
Briana's Story: The loss of a spouse is something you never expect to experience; certainly not at the age of 40. For me, the unexpected came true on November 5, 2021, when my husband Rob died in a twin-engine plane crash. With my ten-year-old son Slater and three-week-old son Kai, I was forced to quickly adjust to life without my forever partner and pave a new path forward. It was a beautiful day and all the ladies found joy and left with a beautiful bouquet for their home. Special thank you to Indigo Iris Farm for hosting the event and providing all the amazing flowers for the event. If you get a chance to visit the farm you won't be disappointed.
